PrEP in British Colombia is still costly and out of reach for many. It isn't covered by the B.C. Health Plan and the newly approved Generic Truvada has brought the price down by about 50% - still unaffordable for many.  You deserve a lot of credit for considering PrEP to prevent HIV infection, and you've come to the right place.

Now, there's a better way to get PrEP - from The Village Pharmacy on Church Street in Toronto. We specialize in PrEP and HIV and have been in business for more than 15 years. We have had a few people from Vancouver approach us about getting PrEP, and now we're offering this service more broadly to everyone on British Colombia, recognizing that there is a need for PrEP that is affordable.

Getting PrEP from The Village Pharmacy is cheaper, safer, convenient and in-line with Canadian and provincial regulations.

Here's more info about costs, insurance coverage, and the 3 steps you need to follow to get PrEP delivered to you, wherever you are in British Colombia.

Costs for PrEP

PrEP in Vancouver and across British Colombia is still out of reach for the majority of people due to high costs. Even with the approval of generic Truvada, costs have not come down significantly enough for PrEP to be affordable.

The Ontario Government announced that it will cover PrEP through the provincial drug program, OHIP. This has enabled the price of generic Truvada to come down significantly in Ontario. At The Village Pharmacy, you'll pay around $260 per month for generic Truvada - that's half the current price in BC, and we'll even ship it to you for free.

The Village Pharmacy can bill your Insurance provider directly. We'll need some details about your insurance plan.
